Historically, the Trading Standards Services in Carmarthenshire deal with more complaints about the building trade than any other trade sector and reputable businesses are fed up with the image that all builders are incompetent or worse.

Therefore Trading Standards decided to attempt to tackle this problem by setting up a form of registration system whereby reputable builders would sign up to a Code of Practice that required them to trade fairly and honestly and abide by the relevant legislation.

• The undertakings by the traders have been accepted in good faith. Inclusion of a trader on the list does not mean that the Council guarantees the work or accepts any responsibility for any aspect of the work or any agreement made with the customer.
• Success of the register depends upon consumer support and feedback. Please complete the feedback form that a registered trader will offer you, or let us know if the trader fails to do this.

The list is divided into different categories, each showing the trading name, trading address and contact details and whether a member of any Trade Association.
