YOUNG people from across the county are being encouraged to voice their opinions on services in Carmarthenshire at the Ninth Annual Youth Conference. 
This year’s event will take place at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli on November 17, between 9.30am and 2pm.

The event, organised by Carmarthenshire Youth Council and Carmarthenshire’s Children and Young People’s Partnership, asks young people to “Be Bothered” about today’s issues: the environment; education; life long learning; crime and safety and “Get Involved” through various workshops that will provide them with the opportunity to share their views.

Young people aged 11-25 from schools, colleges, youth organisations and projects around the county are invited to attend the conference to ensure that their voices are heard on issues important to them in Carmarthenshire.

The opinions and ideas expressed by attendees of the conference will be used to develop the Children and Young People’s Plan, a strategic document containing the overall priorities of services delivered by the partnership, and highlight key areas that need to be taken forward.

Guest speakers at the event include Councillor Meryl Gravell, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Leader and Councillor Gwynne Woolridge, Young People’s Champion and Executive Board Member for Children and Education Services

Peter Morgan, Carmarthenshire Youth Council’s Vice Chairperson, said: “Youth conferences in the past have helped the Youth Council interact with the young people of Carmarthenshire.  We hope this year’s conference will be equally as successful and that more young people have their voices heard by service providers and decision makers.”
