| | Community Safety Plan 2008 - 2011 The Council’s Community Safety Team has been established to lead the County Council in its legal duty to reduce crime and disorder including the delivery of the new Community Safety Plan for 2008 - 2011. |

| | New kerbside recycling service for 10,000 homes The county council is expanding its blue bag scheme and is collecting food waste for the first time. The move will help the county to meet tough recycling and landfill targets. |
