We seek to ensure that businesses use a fair system of weighing and measuring. This is achieved by regulation of the accuracy and suitability of weighing and measuring equipment and the monitoring of goods sold by quantity all the way from the packer or importer through to the retail outlet.
We test metrology standards at our Metrology Laboratory in County Hall, which has Notified Body Status local standards of mass, length and capacity, traceable to national standards.
By using our metrology service it will allow companies to have their equipment certified to comply with Quality Assurance scheme requirements. The service also provides a general verification and calibration service on a fee-paying basis.
For further information please download the Caliberation tables document for information on Accuracy Classes for Weighing, Hierarchy of Standards and Limits of Error for OML Classes.
