Technium is a network of innovation centres nurturing young technology businesses and provides the relevant knowledge, support and physical facilities to help them succeed. The objective of Technium is to provide intensive support for emerging technology businesses within Wales and to offer a ‘soft-landing’ solution for technology businesses looking to enter the Wales/UK marketplace.
Technium provides:-
- Quality incubation space with access to a telephone network and commercial broadband access.
- Access to meeting rooms, conference rooms and reception services.
- General and specialist business support delivered through the public and private sector.
- Links with academia to facilitate support for R&D, design and new product/process development.
- Access to technical laboratories and equipment.

There are a number of options available to companies interested in accessing Technium. These range from renting a dedicated unit, to renting a desk space within a shared unit, or becoming a virtual tenant through the Technium Associate Membership programme.
Technium is a unique partnership between the Welsh Assembly Government’s Department of Enteprise, Innovation & Networks, the University of Wales and the private centre. The programme is supported by European Union Objective 1 funding.
South West Wales is home to 6 Technium centres, one of which (Technium Performance Engineering) is located in Carmarthenshire.
