Council Budgets and Spending 

Financial Services, as a support service, underpins all of the Council's aims and objectives both directly and indirectly through its work supporting front line services.

The service is delivered to meet the needs of the authority and to support the objective that resources are effectively utilised in the delivery of the Council's aims and priorities.

Budget Setting

Carmarthenshire County Council has now set its Council Tax and Housing Rents for the 2009/2010 financial year. The Budget Digest brings together, in summary form, the Authority’s budget information for Revenue and Capital into one document.

Remuneration of Senior Management Team

The Senior Management Team is responsible for managing the activities of the Council staff and for advising councillors on the potential implications of political decisions.

Statement of Accounts

The Council’s Accounts for the year 2008-09 are set out on the following pages of this report, and have been produced in line with the new 2008 Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
