Forward Work Programmes

Each scrutiny committee is required to produce and publish a planned programme of work called a ‘Forward Work Programme’ (FWP), to cover the period of the municipal year. The programme will include a range of issues and reports to be considered over the course of a year and is usually formulated to reflect issues emerging from the Executive Board’s own forward work programme.

The forward work programme is developed by members of the scrutiny committee and is designed to be flexible so that it is capable of reacting to urgent issues. The programme will also reflect scrutiny’s role in performance monitoring, policy development and investigative scrutiny. The current work programmes for 2013/14 can be viewed via the links on the right-hand side of this page.

During March and April 2014, the Council’s scrutiny committees will begin the process of developing their forward work programmes for the period May 2014 to April 2015. If you have any suggestions for areas that you think the committees should consider, then please download and complete the attached form on the right-hand side of this page and return it to the: Scrutiny & Consultancy Team, Chief Executive’s Department, Carmarthenshire County Council, Building 14, St. David’s Park, Job’s Well Road, Carmarthen, SA31 3HB

Alternatively, email the Scrutiny & Consultancy Team at: scrutiny@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

The closing date for suggestions is 30th April 2014.
