Improvement Agreement Grant 

The Successor to the Performance Incentive Grant is the Improvement Agreement Grant (IAG).

This is a new agreement aimed at improving where the Council most needs to, and has the capacity to do so. It is broadly based on the ‘One Wales’ agenda. Performance will be measured by a suite of Actions and Measures which will be monitored quarterly by the Corporate Management Team, Executive Board and Scrutiny Committees.

The agreement will focus on four objectives:

  • A Healthy, Fair and Just Society -Adults
  • A Healthy, Fair and Just Society - Children
  • Sustainable Communities
  • A Prosperous, Cultural and Diverse Society

The initial payment of £1.9 million will be paid during 2008/09 for signing the agreement. Further payments will be paid during 2009/10, based upon our 2008/09 performance and also 2010/11 based on our 2009/10 outcomes.

The payments will be graded depending upon how well we perform during the year in question (a potential payment of £1.9 million will be made for 2008/09 and 2009/10 performance).
