Emergency Planning
Emergency Planning

Fire, flooding, transport disaster, chemical incident, terrorist attack. Any one of these incidents can occur within our county at any time without warning.

It is the role of the emergency planning department to assist the authority in preparing for such an eventuality, working closely with the emergency services and external agencies.

The department’s aim is to assess the threat of a major incident and prepare plans to minimise the effect within the county and meet all forms of disruptive challenges to modern society.

The department reviews and develops the emergency planning requirements of the authority, both internally and on a multi agency basis, ensuring the Authority is prepared to react promptly to save life and property in the event of a disaster or major emergency threatening the community.
