Water Sampling

The Public Health section monitors water quality from a number of sources such as potable waters (drinking water), bathing water, and swimming pools.

Potable Waters
Potable waters include the mains water supply and also private drinking water supplies. Currently, there are approximately 3,500 private water supplies in the authorities area.

The mains water supply is the responsibility of Welsh Water, please visit the Welsh Water Website for further information.

Bathing Water
During the bathing season (May - September) weekly bacteriological samnples are taken by the Local Authority from 1 non-designated bathing beach, located in Burry Port.
