Services for Adults

Adult Services provides support for adults who need help to live their lives as independently as possible.  Most people with social care needs prefer to stay in their own homes.  The sort of help we can provide includes:

  • Advice and guidance
  • Help with personal care needs
  • Home adaptations or special equipment to help people with an illness or disability manage everyday activities
  • Supported living services
  • Day services and opportunities
  • Short breaks for carers
  • 24 hour Careline (community alarm) and Telecare (assistive technology)

Before anyone can receive a social care service they have to have their needs assessed.  The purpose of the assessment is to identify an individual's strengths and difficulties and their capacity to live a full and independent life.

If you think you, or someone you know, needs social care help and support, visit the relevant service section on the left hand side for more information and for details of how to contact the appropriate social care team.
