Work Choice Supported Employment 

 

Disabled people can often face complex barriers to finding and retaining work, but Work Choice can provide advice and support to both the employee/potential employee and employer to make employment a success.

Eligilibity

Participation is voluntary and any candidate for Work Choice must be disabled as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, amended 2005, or have long term health problems.

Suitable candidates for Work Choice:

•   Those who experience complex work-related support needs arising primarily from disability
Individuals who have requirements in work which cannot be overcome through workplace adjustments required under the Disability Discrimination Act and/or Access to Work support
Those needing support in work as well as help with finding work
Individuals who cannot be helped through other DWP programme
Those who wish to access work experience so that they can decide if a job is right for them
Individuals who need support to become self-employed

Referral

Job Centre Plus advisers and other specialist organisations can make referrals to Work Choice.
