Who the service is for
The service is for people aged 55 or over.
The service provided
The service provides older people’s accommodation with a scheme manager and a 24/7 social alarm monitoring system linked through to a Control Centre.
Location
The service is provided at Hanover Court, Russell Terrace, Carmarthen. It is within easy reach of the town centre.
Type of Accommodation
The accommodation is made up of 32 one-bedroom flats and three
two-bedroom flats. All are self-contained with their own kitchens and bathrooms, some with level access showers. If a property still has a bath level access showers can be applied for if required.
When the service is available
Support is provided during normal office hours Monday to Friday mainly by the Scheme Manager but assisted by the Solutions team who would agree such support through a support plan based on you’re the individual’s needs. The out-of-hours social alarm monitoring service is available for information and emergencies that arise outside of normal office hours.
How long the service can be used for
The service is based around the individual needs which are assessed through the support plan.
How to access the service
People access the service through the Carmarthenshire Housing Choice Register Application Form which can be accessed from any of the Council’s Customer Service Centres or by contacting the Association through any of the means given above. People aged 55 or over are accepted, while there is no upper age limit.
Cost
There is a charge for the rent and service charge together with a communal heating charge. The service charge includes the cost of the support service through the scheme manager and the control centre.
Tenants can apply to cover the cost of both the rent and service charge through both Housing Benefit and Supporting People, and help can be received from the support staff to complete any relevant applications.
