Older People Services 

Carmarthenshire has a higher than average proportion of older people compared to the Welsh and UK average.
At the 2001 census there were around 33,000 people aged over 65 in Carmarthenshire, making up about 19% of the County’s population compared to approximately 17% in Wales.

For Supporting People older people is one of the four main drivers for the Supporting People Programme. Through Housing Related Support we will work towards making a reality the choice of an older person to live in their communities amongst people of all ages; receiving the help and support they need to remain in their own homes from local people they know and who know them.
