Who the service is for
The service is for people who are 60 and over (or disabled people who are 55 or over).

The service provided
This is a sheltered-accommodation service (provided by a scheme manager) and an out-of-hours service provided by the customer service centre.

Location
Carmarthen

Type of Accommodation
The accommodation is made up of 23 one-bedroom flats and eight
two-bedroom flats in a sheltered complex.  All are self-contained with their own kitchens and bathrooms.

When the service is available
Support is provided during normal office hours, with some flexibility to meet the needs of the service user. An out-of-hours service is available for emergencies, through the customer service centre.

How long the service can be used for
The service can be provided as long as there is a need for it.

How to access the service
People can access the service by filling in an application form. Once the service provider has received the application, one of their housing officers or assistants will visit the service user at home or invite them to an interview.

Cost
The service user may need to pay for the support they receive. The service provider will help the service user to claim Housing Benefit to cover the cost of the accommodation. If the person using the service does not receive Housing Benefit, they will need to pay the rent on the accommodation that is provided. Please contact the service provider for more information about this.
This service also receives funding from the Supporting People Grant, which is paid direct to the service provider by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Supporting People section.
