Internal Sources of assistance
Please contact your line manager in the first instance however if they are unable to answer your query, you may like to view the Single Status pages at www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk - click on ‘Jobs and Careers’ then follow the links. As well as general information there is a ‘Frequently Asked Questions section which may answer some of your queries.

Single Status Helpline
The Employee Information Helpdesk facility is now also open where you can raise queries:

The Employee Information Helpline operators will endeavour to answer your questions immediately but may need to seek further information or advice before providing an answer. In this case they will record your questions and direct them to a team member who is able to provide a response. All calls will be tracked and recorded to ensure your enquiry is dealt with promptly and accurately.
Communication Champions

Each Department has nominated Communication Champions who can be a point of contact should you be unable to find out an answer to your query from any of the sources outlined above. They provide a link between your department and the negotiating team and are:

Occupational Health
Occupational Health offers health and lifestyle screening, a Stress Management Programme, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and other support. This can be accessed through a referral from your line manager.

Learning & Development
Learning and Development can offer advice on a wide range of learning and development opportunities. The current Learning & Development Plan can be accessed via the following link  Learning and Development.

This is an ‘internet’ based link so can be accessed both at work & from a home PC.  If you do not have access to the internet please ask your manager for a copy.

Dyfed Pension Fund

The Money Advice Service

Financial advice is available through the Money Advice Service which is a government funded service and will seek to provide free, clear and unbiased advice. The Money Advice Service is based at Citizen’s Advice and can be contacted by telephoning Suzanne Gainard on 01267 234488 or via e-mail  suzanne@carmarthencab.org.uk

The website also has downloadable booklets on a range of money related subjects.

Careers Wales

Careers Wales provides a free and professional information and advice service.

They work closely with Job Centre plus and other agencies to advise employees on what services are available and how to access these. They provide advice and guidance on future career plans and possible retraining. They can advise on CV’s, completion of application forms, letters of application and identify possible sources of funding.

This site can provide information on a range of support available for employees from job seeking to employment terms and conditions. You can also use the online benefits adviser to find out what benefits you and your family may be entitled to.

Pensions

It is an independent not-for-profit organisation that provides free information and guidance. This service can also help if you have a problem with your occupational or private pension provider.
