Pilotage Notes
The barrel post marks the entrance to a lit buoyed channel. A siren will sound when the gate is in transit. Traffic lights at the entrance indicate when it is safe to enter and exit. Access times vary depending on the height of the tide. Please call the Harbour Office for further information.

Cruising
For those wishing to sail locally, the Loughor Estuary is a relatively safe enclave, although skippers should make themselves aware of the large tidal range and fast moving currents. For the more adventurous sailor, the marina is the perfect base from which to explore the Gower Peninsula, Carmarthen Bay and Pembrokeshire coastline. Further afield is Lundy and Ireland.
Marina Manners and Etiquette
Customers are asked to tie their halyards back from the mast. Please do not pump bilge water or contaminants into the marina. Please note there is a 3 knot speed limit and children should be supervised and are encouraged to wear life jackets at all times.
Car Parking
Berth holders and visitors may park on the east or west side of the marina and should display their permit, available from the harbour office. All other visitors should use pay and display machine.

Refuse
Domestic rubbish is to be deposited in sealed bags in the skip at the top of the access gangway. Waste oil and batteries are to be left in the compounds at the top of west dock slip and 50m from the outer pontoon entrance.
Telephones
Emergency telephones are situated by the coastguard station on the east side and the tilting flap gate building on the west.
Water
Hosepipes are available to every berth. Please recoil the hose pipe after use and don’t leave the hose end in the water as this is unhygienic.
Security
The access prow has a self locking gate, access is via a pontoon. Security fob is available from the harbour office. There is a CCTV operation throughout the marina.
Electricity Supplies
All electricity supplies are protected by 16A mini circuit breakers and by 30A residual current breakers. Electricity supplies are controlled by a meter system on a pay as you go basis. Credit can be obtained from the harbour office. Continuity of supply cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the system and because of the safety devices fitted to each supply.
Toilets
Situated between the RNLI building and HM coastguard. There is a toilet for the disabled here. A ship’s toilet may not be used whilst in the marina.
General Safety
Fire extinguishers are located on the east end of each pontoon in large red boxes. There are life rings at both ends of the pontoons. Please do not remove these items; they may be needed in an emergency. Children should wear life jackets at all times.
Speed Limits
There is a dead slow mandatory speed limit of 3 knots at all times within the Marina. Please control your wash.
Pontoon Safety
The pontoons can become very slippery when wet or icy. There are grit bins situated at the top of the access prows. Customers are advised not to tog out on the pontoons in adverse weather conditions.

Can be purchased at the harbour office.
